Pastor John Sinskie grew up in a military home. He travelled around the world and at one point in his life, he considered joining the Air Force like his father. But God had other plans. His parents were Christians and he and his older sister were raised going to church. Though Pastor John grew up in church, it wasn’t till he was eighteen years old that he finally accepted Christ as his own Savior on July 26, 2006.
One month later, he went to Pensacola Christian College (PCC) and was a Criminal Justice major for three days. While in a Criminal Justice class, he told God that he would do whatever God wanted him to do. God called him to preach, and he went on to graduate from PCC with a Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministries, a Master’s degree in Biblical Exposition and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. He met his wife, Sarah, at PCC, and they got to know each other as they served together at a Bible Club on the weekends. They were married on April 12, 2014, and the Lord has blessed them with four wonderful children.
Pastor John and his family served the Lord overseas for several years before God called them back to the United States. As they prayed and sought God’s face, He directed them to Calvary Baptist Church in Tremonton, UT. Pastor John came to visit the church a few times in September/October 2024, and the church voted for him to be the new pastor on October 20, 2024. We are excited for what God has in store for us as we shine our light in the Tremonton area!
